Relative of Harriet Tubman on verge of losing historic Baltimore home

House was going up for tax sale

WBAL TV: Anthony Booze has been fighting to keep his Baltimore home that has been in his family for half a century.

A Harriet Tubman historian confirms to the I-Team that Booze is, in fact, a relative of the famed conductor of the Underground Railroad.

“There’s history right here in Maryland, and every day you see them, but you never know who they is,” Booze said.

Booze said his mother, Dorothy Booze, who has since died, was a great-great niece of Tubman and left her Liberty Heights Avenue home to him.

When the city notified Booze that his house was going to tax sale, he desperately made a GoFundMe page to try to save it, including his famous lineage.
